ICOS Company has a long-term experience with designing, project preparation, implementation and management of communication solutions. In connection with their implementation the latest products and technologies, ICOS’s own procedures as well as know-how of its partner companies are used. Communication solutions are established by ICOS Company in such a way that they are of benefit for the customer and they fulfil all the customer’s requirements. The result of this is not only the very transfer of information but also increase in quality, speed, better reliability and safety.

Infrastructure solutions

The solutions are requested by companies of any size, from small and medium businesses up to large corporations. The main task of infrastructure is to provide basic communication layer for running other information systems of the company. It includes transfer media and their interfaces (Structured metallic cabling, optical cabling, air), active and passive network equipment, including server infrastructure (sever, disc field, backup source) supplemented with operating systems and basic software (mail, file, database sever, firewall). Establishment of the infrastructure solution will form a necessary base for information systems.

Networking

The solution is designed for any operator of communication infrastructure. It supplements the infrastructure with other functionality and services. The main function is continuous monitoring of availability, carrying capacity, quality and services provided via network. It gives the infrastructure operator a proper grasp of events happening in the network via specialized hardware and software. The user thus gains ability to react flexibly on current needs and at the same time to anticipate the future trend of network usage.

Information safety

The solution is designed for any company, for which it is critical to secure electronic data. It secures file systems and mail servers against viruses and harmful codes (Antivirus, antispam antispyware). It enables protection, detection and subsequent prevention of unauthorized accesses from Internet network (firewall, IDS, IPS) and ensures authorized access only. The centre of the solution in represented by software and hardware tools providing continuous data security and minimum operating requirements. By increasing the level of information security in the system the company will reduce the risk of loss, unauthorized access and misuse of information.

1., U. S. Steel Košice, s.r.o.; Data backbone VSŽ a.s.
Projecting the backbone of VSŽ a.s. Company data network in the extent of passive and active part of the data backbone, extending the number of nodes of the data backbone in the range of VSŽ a.s. area. Designs of optical cable routes and distribution systems, structured cabling of individual buildings and their connection to the data backbone, design of active and passive network elements of individual nodes, data backbone nodes monitoring. The data backbone provides an effective transport mechanism for connecting LAN networks with high level of flexibility, low time response, continuous monitoring of the network.

2., Slovak Telekom, a.s.; ST Network – WAN/VAN
Projecting the backbone of ST a.s. data network, connecting other nodes of ST a.s. network, extending the number of nodes in the range of the whole Slovakia. Thanks to ST WAN/VAN network the customer is given a separate virtual network connecting customer’s local networks around Slovakia. Projecting ST – IP network for Internet services provider; Projection of the management of the network for remote control and monitoring WAN/VAN network complex; Project of connecting Slovak post-offices with their internal LAN networks via public ST WAN/VAN network. ST a.s. network provides comprehensive services amongst interfaces of local networks, transported data security ensuring, interconnection speeds and structure based on the customer’s requirements as well as integrated network management.

3., OMNITRADE, a.s.; System integrator function, WAN, LAN, VPN.
WAN network connecting topologically remote branches offers a safe and reliable communication between users. At the same time it enables remote administration of all connected computers, which make service more flexible and reduces costs. VPN connection is designed for safe access to internal sources from any internet network place. The position of the system integrator provides the client with complex technical supervision and consultancy in connection with administration and further development of their whole infrastructure.

4., Košice autonomous region office – The function of the system integrator, severs and LAN administration
Server administration includes administration of several tens of servers proceeding from technologies Exchange, SQL Server, Cluster Services, SharePoint Server technologies of Microsoft Company as well as administration of the farm of Citrix servers used for remote access to applications and the farm of VMware ESX servers used for virtualization of hardware means of servers. We provide customer with continuous operation of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 infrastructure for SAP R3 and SAP Business One systems. The office operates WAN network called VUCNET, which, using MPLS technology, interconnects all the organizations falling under the powers of the office and provides central services such as internet access, electronic mails, authentification and some other services our company administrates and monitors. Our company took part in constructing this network and at the same time participated in the process of creating the mobile MPLS network serving for remote access of the assembly members. Within the system integrator position we also provide Information and Communication Technologies Department with technical consulting in terms of developing new technologies.
